Welcome aboard Rick, what took you so long?

Elvis,
Thanks for the welcome. I didn't join earlier because I really didn't want to jump between two boards. I have been looking around here for a while. There are a few things that I like so I thought I would give it a try. Still seems to be pretty much the same old stuff though. Do you know of any other similar boards? I remember reading someone's post that mentioned he visited three boards regularly but did not say what they were. Can't wait for the weather to straighten out. Finished my bike weeks ago and have only been able to get a few miles on it. Bummer!

I see your from Cranston, RI - I have riding buddies that live in RI, MA and CT that I ride with a lot. Hopefully we will meet somewhere/sometime this season. I plan to be at Vanson's open house on Saturday 24 April. I will also be in CT on the 30th for a benefit dinner for a fellow rider with cancer and no chance of survival.

Do you ride a Boss? I keep an eye on the road for V8's just never see any around here. :(
Cranston, RI

V-Man,
Do any of your riding buddies near me ride a Boss Hoss? I might know them because there are only five in Boss Hoss bikes in RI. I know a couple from Ma and one from Ct too. Yes, mine is one of the five.
I can't make Vanson's as I have a previous engagement in NH. I will look forward to meeting you somewhere sometime though.
Always ane eye out for other V8 Bikes! There is a guy here in RI with a Kannon too. I forgot about him, sorry.

Rick , I was checking out the pictures of your bike and man it sure looks sweet . Can't wait to see it in person and meet you in Laconia .
V8 Websites

Bill,
I am a member of the V8Cyclesgroup and now this group. I used to be a member of the Boss Hoss Country Group also but gave that up. I just thought that there might be some other group that I didn't know about.
Thanks for the info though.

Laconia

Jack,
Thanks for the kind words. You cannot imagine how much I am looking forward to Laconia this year! I hope to be able to meet a bunch of the Boss Hoss riders from this and the other sites. It is great to see pictures of people and their rides but it is so much nicer to meet in person.
We need to make some plans as the time gets nearer. Maybe pick a time and location to all meet up. That would be great.

None of my regular riding buddies have a V8. Their bikes range from various types of Harleys, Valkyries and a couple customs. I was lucky to meet a bunch of the V8 guys in Daytona but nobody is real close by.

I will for sure be over Laconia so if I do not meet you before ... I'll see you then!

BTW Nice ride :D
Laconia

V Man,
I see you are from Berwick. I have a friend in South Berwick. In fact, I will be in that area on the 24th. I was supposed to go to a meeting in Concord NH but it got moved to Maine. I will check the exact location and let you know. Maybe we can get in a quick 'hello'.

I wish I were going to be around. :( I am going to be in MA 24-25 April! When are you arriving/leaving Maine? If you are getting here before the weekend or staying through the weekend maybe we could still meet up? Here is my cell number 603-828-6959. Hopefully we can work something out!

Berwick, Maine

V-Man,
Looks like plans changed again. I was supposed to be coming up Friday and leave Sunday. Now it looks like I will be driving up early Sat. morn and back home again Sat night. I will be at the American Legion Hall in Rollingsford, NH? I don't get it. The directions say to take I-95 to Maine and get off at exit 3 to Rte 236 North. At the junction of 236 and State Route 4 in South Berwick, Me, turn South onto Rte 4 for 1 1/2 miles. At a flashing yellow light, turn right onto Roberts Road which becomes Main St. In the center of town is Foundry St on the right and this hall is at 47 Foundry St. I have to go to South Berwick Maine to end up in Rollingsford, NH??? Well, if I find it I will be there around 10:00 am.
You will probably be at Vansons so maybe we will catch up another time.
Buy the way. I talked to someone that said last year's event at Vanson was pretty lame. He suggested you check it out on the web or give them a call to make sure they have something worthwhile going on.

Your directions are right! :D That is probably the easiest/most direct route to take. Basicly RT236 runs along the NH/ME State line. South Berwick, ME is directly across the river (State line) from Rolllingsford, NH. With your directions you will have no problem finding the American Legion.

Be sure to take Exit 3 in Maine! The exit will also point you to Kittery, ME and the "outlet shopping" ... exit splits two ways - one to Kittery and one to South Berwick. As soon as you cross the large I95 bridge Exit 3 will be about 1 - 1.5 miles (stay right on exit ramp).

Your buddy is right about Vanson's! It was lame last year but I need a new jacket so I hope to find a good deal on a jacket. The "open house" part stinks but the sales are usually good.

Directions

Don,
Thanks for the driving tips. That gets confusing because there are two exit #3's as I remember. There is the exit #3 near Kittery and another exit #3 on the Maine Turnpike. Same road if I continue on, isn't it??
Good luck at Vanson's.

There are actually more then two exit 3's (but two in that general area)! :? Only in Maine I guess. :)

You wil get off the FIRST exit 3 aprox 1 mile after crossing the I95 Bridge. It is marked very well - just stay right because 236 ramp goes right and RT 1 Mall Outlets will go left (you don't even want to get into the traffic here on a weekend).

I really wish I were going to be around this weekend - but there will be other times. Are you riding the Boss up or 4 wheeling? If you are bringing the bike I can give you a few routes to hit that you would enjoy ... if you have the time.

Don
Maine

Don,
You are not going to believe this. Plans changed again! I will not be going to Maine or NH this weekend! I will save the directions because I definately will be going to that location this summer for a boat race.
The good news is I MIGHT be able to make it to Vanson's on Saturday if nobody else makes other plans for me. Let me know when you will be there and I will try to meet up with you.

More changes ... sounds like my life! :) I will keep you posted on when I will be an Vanson's. It will depend on temps here what time I leave in the AM. I would expect between 11 - 12 arrival. Hope you can make it, I don't get to see many Boss' up my way.

Don
Vanson's Leather

Don,
I will watch the weather for Saturday. That will determine what time I will arrive. As we get closer to a more accurate forcast, I will let you know about what time.
There used to be a Boss Hoss dealer in Grey, Maine. I bought my kit from him. I have not talked to him in a few years. Do you know if he is still around? His name is Charlie Small.
