I am new to your forum. I have had a 98 SB stoker w/ a single speed Nesco trany for about a year. I am experiencing a transmission leak from the bell housing. We pulled the trans and determined the leak was coming from the pump. After pump disassembly we could see the front seal was the cause of the leak. After further inspection we noteiced where the lip of the seal rides (on a part I would call the "fixed pump vane") there appeared to be some slight scaring (approximently 1 to 1 1/2 thousands) on the vane. My question is two fold:
1) Do I need to replace this vane becuse of the scaring? If so, what is the part # and who do I get it from? I have 16k miles on the bike, would this be considered normal wear, and just change the seal and o-rings and call it a day?
2) Is there any procedure for installing the converter and transmission back on the bike? The converter seems a bit sloppy on the spline ( do I need to apply a temp shim top and bottom for proper allignment). I am concerned the seal will leak again if I don't.
I hope someone can shed some light on my promlem.
Thank you
Dean
