I was down at the local speed shop today lookin for a nitrous set up and came across a deal from holley called the top shot system. The way it works is it has four nozzles that point into the top of the carb and mount to the air cleaner bottom. Has some U shaped tubes to direct the fuel and nitrous into the carb venturies. Has anyone tried this set up as a means of getting around notching the frame to raise the carb with a plate under it?

I saw the price from Jegs for $485 bottle included. Sure looks like it would work by cutting the sides off of the air cleaner.

The Top Shot Nitrous system is the easiest NOS kit to install. What's more, the system can be concealed within the air cleaner assembly. The nitrous and fuel mixture is simply injected directly down into the top of the carb. The injector module slides over the carburetor/air filter stud without having to remove the carburetor. What could be easier?
The Top Shot module requires no additional clearance where other systems may. The Top Shot utilizes nitrous and fuel flare jets which are adjustable to produce impressive power gains from 75 to 150 HP for stock or modified performers with complete reliability. For performance and ease of installation the Top Shot is an excellent choice. Comes with jets for 100-150 HP.

Fits inside most standard air cleaners and can be adjusted to produce from 75-150 horsepower!

Geezer,
Did you have an Edlebrock carb on your 502 when you ran the Top Shot? Did you have to do any trimming to make it fit, or was is as easy as it looks? What about running the Fuel and Nitrous lines to the Top Shot? Any interference with linkages, accelerator pump, etc? Strange, with all the posts about Nitrous in the past, the Top Shot wasn't mentioned. Thanks.......Don

Don:

Top shot will not work with a Q-Jet Carb, due to the air flap, in the
secondary's. Must use either a Demon or Holly type carb.

The Demons can be a monster to tune, but like anything else, once you
learn all the little tricks through trial and error together with reading
everything you can find, they really are a great performance carb.

I ran an 850 Mighty Demon-Annular Discharge Booster, both on the
stock 502 and my current set-up.

With the stock Q-Jet, you are limited to a plate system. But again,
the Q-Jet set up right is one of the finest metering carbs available
for the street.

Okay all you nitrous experts I have a question. I am mounting the Sniper system on my bike and it looks like a clearance problem for the solenoids. Can I move them? It does not look like these solenoids have a positive mount anyway. Looks like when reading the instructions that they just hang on the end of the line coming off the plate. When I called the tec line they said the nitrous solenoid needed to be above the plate. Looks like this would be hard to do. Any help would be appreciated.
