Speedo worked fine, Pulled in for a burger, when i turned the ign. switch on the needle went to 160. Turned it on and off still the same problem. When I run it jumps all over the place. Just coasting at 1-2 miles an hour it reads 80mph. Its a 2003 350 Trike. Electronic speedometer. Ya think I need a new one or is there a way to reset them? Only have 2,000 miles on the trike, ya would think it would last longer than that...huh! Thanks for any input.........Yahooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Steve

You can try to reset the speedo - not sure if it will solve your problem or not but worth a try anyway.

Here are instructions to follow:

1) With a known good, accurate speedo mark off two miles. (I used highway mile markers here)

2) With the power OFF on the bike, push and hold the trip/reset button and start the bike while holding the button. DO NOT LET GO OF THE BUTTON until the pointer sweeps full scale and stays at full scale.

3) Drive to the two miles course you marked off previously and stop. Push and release the trip/reset button and the needle will drop to half scale. Drive the two miles ... the needle will stay at half scale no matter what your speed.

4) At the end of the two mile ride come to a complete STOP. Push and release the trip/reset button and the needle now drops to ZERO. This completes the recalibration process.

Good luck - post if this helps or not!

8) V-Man, I did what you said to reset the speedo....and.....presto... thing works like it used to. I must have turned it on before the speedo set itself on start up and screwed it up. Thats all I can figure out. Anyway I owe ya a beer. I had visions of taking it out..sending it in.. waiting for a different one..installing the new one...etc etc. Thanks a million!!!!!
Fasteddie, if that trike could go as fast as my 2 wheeler, I could see doing a 160. Seems to me the trike just doesn't have the spunk of my 2 wheeler. Anyway THANKS for all the help and all the BS. I love reading this board....Yahooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Steve
