Adrian,

Looking all over the web, cannot find a comprehensive heat range chart for plugs.

I'm going to try and run a set of Champion C57CX racing plugs this year. I believe they are one or maybe two ranges cooler than our stock plugs, and they have the cut back electrodes set at .040. Should be perfect for the NOS.

Although I have not had a detonation issue to date, I figure I'll be gobbling up a bit more NOS this year and don't want to chance it.

In your infinite racing library, do you have a cross reference chart to give me the heat range of these plugs?? I think they are either 5 or 7........

Thanks.

I don't have a chart that will give the compairson you are asking for. On our Race car we set the plugs at .017 of an inch but we have huge voltage out put plus a bunch of Nitro. I tried a different heat range than the AC plug that came with the ZZ4 but went back to the recommended plug. It worked just great so I stayed with them. I made several runs with the NOS and would pull a plug to get a read. It never was to hot so I just left them alone. I ran .035 almost all the time because the Nitrous was short lived at a time.
I have been seeing a lot of talk about the wider gaps and HD coils but I would bet the biggest increase in the fun factor is the advance curve from the Vacuum advance we have gotten.

Adrian,

Agree on the timing & advance. I know a lot of guys have been opening up the gaps because of the high output coils, well beyond the .035 to .045 that is standard. NOS recommmends .040 for a gap and the use of a plug with very short, and very fat ground straps....exactly what these are.

I'll just give them a whirl and see what happens. I know they are not going to be too hot, maybe a bit cool on gas though.

Thaks bud...........how's the weather out there?? I suppose you uys are riding the wheels off your toys while we keep trying to see light at the end of the tunnel

Bosch Platinum plugs work perfectly and you can forget about having to change them. Now in for 12,000 miles with no performance degradation. These are 100,000 mile plugs. No gapping! I love them because I never have to think about them. I occasionally clean the ceramic body with Windex because I feel like it...Joe
