Quick question....
Anybody ever use a set of snowmobile clutches for drag racing on a car or bike that you know of??

I sled a lot in the winter and with some sleds reaching the 3-400 hp range, we're almost in the same power bracket, vastly different engines, but similar power.

Think about it though... a sled setup puts the engine at peak horsepower and holds the rpm there while extracting the most power and smooth transition to the ground in all conditions. Not too sure about hp loss or how efficient it is.

Want to change the torque curve or diddle with it? No problem, change primary weights, helixes, secondary springs, whatever.

Dragsters use a clutch a lot like the snow mobile but the gearing is where the problem would be plus the needed cooling for the clutch.

Years ago about 98-99 when I started looking for a V8 bike, I ran across
this fellow in Oklahoma that had a "Kannon" for sale with some type
of centrificial clutch that the racers used in the old days. He said it
could be dialed in wherever you wanted it, just twist the throttle and
go. If I remember right, he said the unit was built in Calif.

Sounded interesting.
