How do you remove the gas gauge on the left side of the gas tank? Does it just pull or twist out, I am going to paint the bike and need to remove it for painting.

Disconnect the wiring plug and undo the ring of 5 screws, it then simply lifts up and out of the tank.
Might need to wriggle it to break the seal between the black rubber gasket ring but it shouldn't be a problem.

where are the five scews ? I have a wire going through the tank but do not see any screws,,,,, but the tank is still on the bike right now.

thank you,,,,, I pretty sure I do hve a different style mine is an 03 but not shore if it was standard or not.
