Crazy Rick posted last week that I was about to pick up my '05 502 on Friday. Well....

The weather was overcast and threatening and Rick tried to get me to ride after it started to clear up but I was too big of a whimp and worried about riding the first time in the rain. The sky was threatening though not too much. I just couldn't bring myself to ride a brand spankin' new custom paint straight into the rain. (Potentially) On top of that my confidence wasn't exactly at the top. Though I rode Harley's alot back in the day, I haven't ridden in 20 years and A BOSS AIN'T NO HARLEY! That I can say with confidence now. <grin> Well, thanks to a helluva friend of mine, I put about 200 miles on his Intruder 1400 a couple of weeks before and got my motorcycle endorsement on it. That was my 20 year refresher.

So I wimped out Friday night and decided to wait until Saturday.
Well, Saturday comes and I went for it! MAN 'O MAN !!!! NO Harley I've ever ridden comes even close! I was a little wobbly out of the parkin' lot but I managed to keep it in the vertical.

Proud to say I touched triple digits at about the 65 mile marker. (100+) By Sunday night I had put nearly 300 miles on her. HOOAH !!!!!!!!

Here's the ironly. Saturday night I was on the way back to the house. A friend was following me to take me back to my car. 5 MILES from the house I got pounded by a Thunderstorm. I mean it was rainin' Buckets. I couldn't see squat. It was painful. I managed to pull off the 6 lane interstate I was on. (I285 top end for those of you who know Atlanta) I turned right hoping to find cover in a gas station or something but could only find someone's driveway. So I sat in my friend's car (soaked to my underwear) and watched for almost an hour while my BRAND NEW CUSTOM 502 GOT A BATH FROM MOTHER NATURE. FIRST FREAKIN' DAY !!!. An hour later and still in a drizzle I made it to the barn.

Well...It's Tuesday and she's not lookin' to bad considerin'. Still got a lot of rubbin to do.

Thanks Rick!!! You're alright! Don't care what they say. <grin>

new Boss in town.

Jeff, congrats on the big block brother. How about some pics when you get a chance.

What will take some getting used to is the 100 questions you have to answer at every stop. :D

Ride safe.

Yahooooooooo, instant Viagra every time you stradle it.....and no side affects

Tim
Speaking of Viagra....a friend told me that one Viagra tablet in the gas would give my bike a few extra ponies. I thought he was pulling me leg and argued vehemently, but, this guy is very knowledgeable and so I gave in and tried it (he gave me the tablet....I don't have any  ).

I still can't get my kickstand to retract!

kickstand should retract in 4 hours

Redtro

if it was only so simple...give your bike a pill and all will be well.

Anyhow, if your kickstand doesnt retract within 4 hours, rush it to the nearest hospital and find a HEAD nurse! (For you..never mind the bike!)

Heh Heh
Keep the rubber side spinnin'
