I saw an episode of American Thunder today (it was "TIVO'd" from a while ago) that featured a custom bike with many mods including an Avon 230 rear tire.
The builder commented in the story that his Avon 230 "measured out to a 260 width" since he was running a 9" wheel. I could see the rear tire in on the bike and it definitely was "our" 230 tire. I could not really see if the tire looked like it had more contact patch, as claimed, though.
Any thoughts on this? I like the idea of keeping the 230 on my bike due to Avon and The Facory's recommendations that I use it. Having more contact patch might be nice though.
Also, any info out there on an affordable source for a 9" wheel?
