I was with a friend for lunch and he wanted to stop at a auto paint store to get some color coded paint for the engine compartment of his truck. We pulled up and I immediately noticed the name above the door.... "King Cobra Boss Hoss Cycles". I almost had a cow! Knowing that there was no Boss Hoss dealer here in Tallahassee, I walked in with much anticipation and learned that Tallahassee USED to have a dealer here. The owner was a friend of Monty, owner of Boss Hoss and that's how this one came to be. Had something to do with a trade, a bike for a Cessna 172...I don't know much more than that. The dealership is no more and the sign was just an old sign still hanging above the overhead door.
But here is the interesting thing about this chance encounter. The owner, who is old and retired, still has two bikes that he never sold! He has a 2000 model corvette trike, 355 h.p. and a '97 or '98 bike (the son of the owner didn't know which year it was) and both have around 1000 miles on them. The bike is a one speed auto 355 h.p. and he said that he wanted $15,000 for it. He said he wanted $22,000 for the trike. His son who was on the phone with his dad (who is the retired guy and owner) said, "I bet that he would take less for either". Both the bike and the trike are in brand new condition with the exception of the dead batteries.
I hated to see these bikes just sitting there in what is left of the old showroom. If you had been there I'm sure you would have felt like I did....like I had found some forgotten pirates treasure. I have the guy's contact info if anyone is interested.
