My wife has been pestering me for a few years now to get a pick-up for at least the winter months. (I have ridden year round for at least 6 years regardless of weather conditions). I may be getting "soft" in my older years as I have noticed it is getting colder when the temps go below 0. And I am not talking Celcius. So I compromised and got a Pick-Up. Flew from CT last Friday morning, was in California in the afternoon. Left the Los Angeles area just before 5pm (California time) and was back home in CT Monday afternoon. 5pm on a Friday is not the time to go through the LA area. This would make an un-official IBA Saddlesore 3000 in a truck. I guess I shop for pick-ups the way I shop for motorcycles.

Are you going to get a trailer for your truck, so you can pull it behind your Boss Hoss????? Just kidding. I did see a HD Ultra-Glide (?) one time pulling a trailer with a nice looking chopper on it. Nice vehicles.

Geez,
You are correct on that duramax. It has the 6600 duramax with the m74 Allison Tranny. The cab and chassis is the Kodiac 4500.

After 3,000 miles starting to break in. The best I got was approx 12 mpg. It did best in the 70 mph range.
