How's your bike coming along? When will you get it back?

Well ... not great news :? The machinist that was going to do the block just got out of the hospital, had a ruptured gall bladder with MANY complications :( Looks like he will be down for some time ... I spoke to Bruce tonight and we both decided to go with a plan "B"

I will be headed down to CT on Thursday to pick up the Boss. I am really missing the bike bad, you know the feeling ... how's your paint coming along?

Plan "B" is me taking my bike home and being able to use it for a couple planned trips (Myrtle Beach, Maggie Valley etc). Bruce is going to pick up a bare block. When Mike is back to the shop and ready he will get the bare block from Bruce and do the Stroker kit. Once the Stroker kit is complete the rest of the engine will be assembled. Plan B is actually better because I will have an entire ZZ4 to sell ... easier then trying to find a buyer for heads, intake, crank, cams etc etc individually.

So ... the engine will be done just not in the time frame I was hoping for :( Anybody looking for a spare ZZ4? Well taken care of, synthetic oil changed every 2,000 miles, excellent condition :D Just not sure on exact date it will be available

Hey Don,

Well it sounds like you won't be without your bike for long. They will just swap out motors when the new one is ready?

You know, that Maggie Valley trip sounds like a good one. Is it open to anyone, or just current and past Valk riders? When is it? I was at the Honda Hoot about 2 years ago and got on some very good rides in the East Tenn. mountains, including Deals Gap. I've been itching to do that again.

I talked to the painter yesterday and they are putting on the base coat today and then it will go to graphics. It was FUN discussing paint schemes with the painter yesterday. I'm getting very excited.

My old chrome front end should be delivered to the factory today and the check (mailed separately) also. Hopefully they will turn around the new chrome quickly.

I have a new blueprinted carburetor that should arrive this week (THANK YOU BUSA DAVE), along with chrome plug wire rails to help cover that ugly exhaust manifold. The bike looks pretty naked right now. But I'm excited about how it is going to turnout. I just hope I can get it all back together without any problems. I've never messed with a front end before and don't have a clue about adjustments or alignments that may be necessary. I'd hate for this thing to get into a high speed wobble or simply come apart with me on it.

The longest part is going to be waiting on Mike to recover well enough to get back to work THEN catch up on all the work I am sure has been stacking up on him :? That's OK because I am comfortable with that plan and I know it will be worth the wait.

Maggie Valley is OPEN TO ANY AND ALL BIKES AND RIDERS. Here is a link with more info as far as dates etc ...

I am staying at Apple Cover (something like that anyway) just down the street from the Quality Inn. You guys should ride up - lots of really great riding in the area. We are getting down there on 29 May and spending almost two weeks riding that entire area. Kim wants to visit the factory so we'll be doing that sometime.

Excellent news on the paint! Maybe I was wrong ... maybe your painter will be on time! It would be a first for me to see but who knows, stranger things have happened I guess. :D

Good news on the front end, heck your getting a new bike almost! I've never had the front end off the Boss but have on plenty of other bikes ... should be pretty straight forward - looks like it anyway. A bunch of guys here have replaced the front end with the inverted setup - maybe they could post torque specs and any tips there may be.

See what you can do, maybe I'll see you in Maggie Valley
