The guage just started to read "more full" than actual. It didn't come off of full for about 50 miles. When I gassed (roughly 130 miles) with the needle showing between 3/4 and full it took 5.5 gallons. Guage itself?

Conrad:

My experience has been the sending unit is the problem. I have replaced
two of them on the two BH's I have owned.

Thanks Geezer...Is it just a "float" assy and any hints on "how to replacement"?

Conrad,

Remove 2 screws to lift the dash.

On the left side, remove 5 screws to pull sender.

Separate connector.

Don't even need to drain tank.

Kit comes complete with new screws, connector, and O ring.

Thanks guys. I'll order one tomorrow. Besides, it's the first thing I ever ordered under $400 and by far the easiest to install. I was growing tired of major projects.
