Man that was not good. It was early in the morning and I was behind another bike getting on the freeway when all of the sudden my frontend started to slip big time. My foot went down and my other leg smacked the tank so hard that I thought I put a dent in it, my leg is still a little sore. I didn't go 10 feet and it slipped again, at that point I pulled over to see if I had a flat front tire but everything looked fine. I'm not sure how or why this happened but I can tell you it's no fun on a 1200 pound bike! Now I'm a little puckered up on off ramps and on ramps.

Lamont,

Similar situation - just entering hwy off of ramp and started oscilating like I was on ice - then smelled what I thought was kerosene - turns out was diesel fuel from a rig ahead of me that was slowing with some mechanical problem, it was misting fuel like crazy - scared the **** out of me - got around the truck, stopped and gathered myself - spun the tire a little as a cleanser and headed off with no other problem - - got thinking about that and it may have been different if it was dark outside or if I was going faster - - - -

Happened to me also and the culprit was the metal expansion joints on a ramp that was under construction. Thought I was going down for sure! One of the negative things about these bikes is the huge mass of these them when they begin to falter. I recently tried my friend's Triumph Rocket III which is huge compared to most bikes (700+ lbs.) but it felt like a bicycle to me. My son's FXR feels like a toy and my son's girlfriend's 800 Suzuki Intruder feels laughable!
Price of riding the bad beast....Joe
