I am just about ready to purchase a Boss. I am set on the 385 small block and all of the options but am stumped on the paint job.
Big Jim at Detroit Boss Hoss told me I can have it painted locally but I do not know of any reputable painters. He also said Scotty down in MO is an outstanding painter who paints for the factory.

Question #1: Does anyone know any good and reliable painters in SE Michigan? Or should I go with Scotty?

Question #2: Someone give me some ideas!! I am artistically challenged in the worst way. What is the best/coolest paint job you have seen on a Boss? What graphics/schemes/themes look best on a Boss?

I would like to approach the painter with some idea rather than a blank slate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to Mountain Boss Hoss website

http://www.mountainbosshoss.com/bhsold_p1.htm

http://www.mountainbosshoss.com/BHsold.htm

They have very good pictures of the bikes they have sold, and will give you a good idea of what works or does not work on a Boss.

Next do a web search for custom painters, find and print out anything that really lights your fire. The more info you can give your painter ( whoever you choose ) the better.

Also if there is a custom builder you like ( http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/bike/bike.html ) check them out.

Cool paint

I just started stealing pictures off the web of paint jobs that I liked.
Take the pics of what you like to the painter, and give him some artistic freedom and he might recommend something special. What's nice about this is the painter will only recemmond something that he knows he can pull off.
Paint is fun!

LABro,

I just had my bike painted by Mike Dusold of Dusold Designs, in Louisville, Texas. His number is 972-221-1455.

I plan to post pictures of my re-assembled bike tomorrow. He exceeded my wildest imagination and I can't say enough about his work. He's not cheap, but you get far more than you pay for. I told him what colors I liked and then just stood back and let him come up with something. I had no idea what it looked like until the parts arrived at my office last Friday afternoon. I was NOT disappointed.

Anyway, just wait and make your decision after I post my pictures tomorrow.
