Belts and Pulleys

I have a 2000 small block 383 stroker with 25,000 miles on the original belt and pulleys. I don't see any signs of dangerous wear on any of the components but am thinking of changing them prophylactically to avoid a failure when unexpected.
What are ya'll doing with these components that seem to be ok but wondering just how long to push the envelope?

I discussed this subject with Monty for a few minutes and he said unless I wanted to waste, money then use it for 100,000 miles and see how it looks. I thought that was a long time but I have over 32,000 miles and the belt still looks new. I plan on doing what he said if I keep it that long.

That was my original thought but am somewhat paranoid since my Harley belt trashed without warning at 25,000 miles. Cogs just were missing without warning. I'll watch it and not change until some sign of wear.

Joe,
On my 98 I only broke 1 belt around 30 - 35K. Nailed the 4 barrels a few times and didn't have it tight enough and it hoped a tooth. That is when it let loose. My fault. I replaced the next belt after another 30 K due to squeeling. I found that the teeth were worn down approx 30 %. Cogs were still good. You running the "new style" kevlar belt should get alot more life.
