Hello all, I have been lurking here awhile and am amazed at all of the great info that is available here. I was wondering if I could safely go 10.000 miles between tranny oil changes on my 01 502. I use MX4T. The bike has 16,000 miles and no problems with the trans. Thanks, Bill

Bill...with synthetic oil you might be OK but WHY try? Change the oil!!..Joe

Joe, thanks for the reply. I took your advice and changed the fluid this morning. It looked fairly clean with 6k miles. To be safe, I'll stick with 5k intervals. Thanks, Bill

Bill...The strange thing is that each time I change the fluid which I do about every 5000 miles, it is different in terms of how dirty it seems to be. Sometimes it looks almost like new whereas other times is discolored and has lots of metal particles. Could be the way I drove it during the previous 5K miles....not sure. To me it's just not worth the chance. This is one of the reasons I took my skidplate off which makes changing a ton easier.....Joe
