Tire Load Rating Chart - Good

Below are links to what I was trying to find that explains the various tire sizes and maximum load ratings at maximum inflation pressure.

I am running Avon 130/90-16's front tires with a 74H load/speed rating. A 74 is rated at 830lbs. The letter "H" is the speed rating for up to 130MPH.

The letters S, H or V are the key to the speed range: (S) tires are up to 112 mph, (H) tires are admissible for speeds up to 130 mph, and (V) tires for 150 mph and up.

The Avon Cobra AV71 MT90HB-16, Radial Front (74H), The Avon Venom AM41 MT90HB-16, Bias Ply Front (74H) and the Metzeler ME 880 MT90HB-16, Front (72H) seem like pretty good blackwall tires. Pay close attention to the details to get the right size and load rating and the sidewall you want, i.e. narrow stripe, wide stripe, black. The important thing with the front tire/back tire rotation direction is about the rain groove. You sure don't want to hydroplane. That is why the direction of rotation is stamped into the sidewall.

Aside from the above factors, make sure you maintain the correct tire pressure! 49 PSI seems to be the standard.

I just bought a Metzeler Front ME 880 MT90HB-16 Blackwall Tire, DennisKirk Part #: 543369, Manufacturer Part #: ME880MARATHO, $123 (free shipping)

The image below may be useful too, but what I really wanted to know the differences between the numbers 73H, 74H etc. Long story short, the higher the number, the higher the load rating. Use the links below to see what you're running on those SB/BB's. Don't guess... know the answer. Ride safe.
