    Default 1991 Boss Hogg,YES

Jack, For the first year or so it was Boss Hogg.
It was HD that had the problem and the name
was changed to Boss Hoss as we all know it be
now. 20 plus years later it is some times still
called Boss Hogg. My first BH, now known as
"Kit #1", was then and is still titled as a Boss Hogg.

Really hope to find a 'vette body Trike
    '57 is also being considered.

Find you a nice Deuce at a great price, buy a Vette trike body & subframe, swap them out, then sell the extra body. That's what Jack Hardy aka Winchester did and he now has an awesome Vette trike.
Boss Hoss probably sold more Deuce bodies than all the others combined so this is a no-brainer.

Paul , well I guess I stand corrected . I alway thought Harley only had a problem of someone using the word HOG stemming all the way back to when the Harley racing team had a pig for a mascot and were named the Hog Boys . I can't see why Harley would have a problem with the word HOGG or even HAWG for that matter . I remember hearing Monte in a very early interview say the reason he built his first V8 bike is because he wanted the biggest and the baddest Hog around . With all due respect are you sure you are right about the word Hogg as apposed to the word Hog .

    Default Yes

Yes, because HD owns the rights to anything
that even comes close to HOG, HOGG or HAWG.
Go figure, I guess it's just good bussiness.

    Clint,
I suspect that finding the BH Corvette body and a subframe may be just as difficult as locating a complete Trike. If there is a source for bodies and subframes please send me a PM.

Another consideration is that because of my deployed status I have very limited time on my R&R to mod a '32.

    Heck of an idea though.........

Well you guys can say or think anything you want about what name Monte started out with Hog or Hogg but I say the picture of old number one that Elvis posted says it all as far as what the companies real original name was and that's proof enough me .

Click on the picture to blow it up .

    Thanks Wildman and Elvis .

    Default My memory???

Well guys I guess my memory is about as long
as my d---, and that ain't much. I guess I should
gone back and looked at some of my old T shirts.
I used to have a "BOSS HOG" ball cap, but I gave
to Stamford BH and it was burned up in there fire.

Boss Hoss sells a short subframe for the Deuce and a longer unit to fit everything else,Michael. The Corvette bodies can probably still be purchased from a dealer.
I would be willing to help you make it happen, through my BH dealer,if you are interested. It would be a fun project.

Not a bad price but I thought 2003 was the first year for the newer-style seat and Brembo brakes? $20K is a good price, though.

I'm kinda glad that the name was changed to Boss Hoss though.... Because the term Boss Hogg (Hog), reminds me of that fat dumpling Dolt in a white suit on the old TV show Dukes of Hazzard!

    Ric...

The story I heard why it was changed from Boss Hog to Boss Hoss was because of Dukes of Hazard infringment and NOT Hardly Davidson..because I see there are other companys are using the word "hog" in their businesses.

Appreciate the suggestion, but a Sierra just doesn't do it for me.
Trying to stay focused on finding a Corvette body trike.
I did write to the seller using the CL link.
    - no reply as of yet.....

I really appreciate you guys (and gals) keeping your eyes open for me.

If HELLBOY is looking for a Sierra, hopefully your lead posted here will be something for him to consider.

Could be that the seller is on vacation? Don't forget, this time of the year many hard working people go on vacation.

    Good luck. Robin

Anything is possible, but I find it unusual that somebody that has legitimate interest to sell a high-dollar item would place an ad and then have no ability to check for replies from buyers. Seller might be on vacation but wi-fi access is everywhere. Even complimentary computers are available at most hotels.

If this is any indication of the seller's sense of good communication, then it will hinder a "warm fuzzy" when trying to conduct a long-distance negotiation and potentially a transfer of purchase funds. This, speaking strictly as a serious buyer that can't get much more distant- Afghanistan!

I sent a message to a guy on craigslist with my phone # etc and it was more than a month before he replied
Turns out he had listed the item for his dad then his dad turned deathly sick and eventually passed away. So you never know
you could hear back .. just in case I sent him a email too ... not going to buy just to see if I could get any reply

I did the same...even offered him a bit more money to see if he'll bite...I'll let you know if and when he'll respond.
Let's hope for the best. I know what's it like chasing your dream...I, too am looking for my dream BB trike.
